If you’re new to town and looking for some fun activities this Independence Day, here are some of the local favorites in and around Colorado Springs.
Memorial Park Summer Symphony
This is the region’s largest event with amazing food and a fabulous fireworks display at dusk. Be entertained by the USAFA Band and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic beginning at 5:30pm while waiting for the main event. If you can’t make the 4th, take a short drive up to Woodland Park for a repeat performance on the 5th! Free to the public.
Rock Ledge Ranch Family Fourth
This daytime event will have you traveling back into time. Witness a re-enactment of a Revolutionary War Encampment. Listen to Abe Lincoln read the Gettysburg Address. Mingle with General William Jackson Palmer and Teddy Roosevelt. Kids can enjoy carnival games with prizes. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food on site. The Tri-Lakes 4th of July Celebration
Enjoy a pancake breakfast beginning at 7am or lace up your shoes for an early morning 4 mile fun run. Vendors will showcase their goods during the street fair from 8am – 3pm. There will be a beer garden with live music, a children’s parade, car show, kid’s zone and more! Wrap up the day with a fireworks show beginning at dusk. Old Colorado City July 4th Community Picnic
Experience a traditional summer picnic at Bancroft Park. Visit this link to pre-purchase your traditional 4th of July meal with all the trimmings! Enjoy live music and yard games in a small town setting. 11am – 3pm
Manitou Springs Fourth of July Concert
Local band Woodshed Red will perform at The Bud Ford Pavilion at Soda Springs Park. Enjoy beer, food and dancing! Parking is limited. Visit the above link for information on the free shuttle. Admission is free. 11am – 5pm
